Reflect

September 2016 – Houston, Texas

Buffalo Bayou Park offers 160 acres of beautiful scenery and skyline views, artwork, a nature play area, the ‘go-to’ dog park in the city, hike and bike trails and gathering places for visitors to enjoy outdoor activities as well as live, artistic performances.

The lovers of cycling and jogging can enjoy the Sandy Reed Memorial Trail, a ten-foot wide concrete trail located on both sides of the bayou.

During my ride, I was trying to trace the Monumental Moments, a series of 6 four-foot-tall sculptures.  The single word thoughts – Explore, Pause, Reflect, Listen, Emerge and Observe –  are placed at ground-level in unexpected areas along the bayou-side asphalt Kinder Footpaths.

Reflect what you desire and enjoy the ride.

Old Faithful

August 2014 – Yellowstone Park, Wyoming

Old Faithful, named by members of the 1870 Washburn Expedition, was once called “Eternity’s Timepiece” because of the regularity of its eruptions. However, despite the myth, this geyser has never erupted at exact hourly intervals, nor is it the largest or most regular geyser in Yellowstone. However, it does erupt more frequently than any other of the large geysers.

An Old Faithful eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes and reaches a height of 90-184 feet (27-55 m). The period of time between Old Faithful’s eruptions ranges from 35 to 120 minutes.

Bird Silhouette

When many people think of bird photography, they think of tight cropped, detailed pictures of birds. Using silhouettes in photography can provide beautiful and artistic photos.

This photo is of a Great Horned owl at a mountain national park in Canada (can’t remember its name right now). The photo was taken at mid-day with the light of the sun coming from overhead and the clouds adding character to the sky.

Birds photos created using silhouette photography techniques can produce stunning silhouette images especially at sunrise or sunset.
