La Barceloneta

April 2015 – Barcelona, Spain

From Marina Port Vell, it’ll take you less than five minutes to walk to this beautiful beach, or to one of the many beach bars lined up along the beach. The beach, 4 km wide in places, is a fascinating strech of soft golden sand where you can just lie down and soak up the warmth of the Spanish sun with a good book or a refreshing drink.

Near the beach there is a very nice and highly recommended restaurant called ‘Salamanca’ which specialises in the best fish and shellfish of the Mediterranean seas. That night we were lucky enough to recognise Andres Iniesta sitting at the table next to us while the night before we were told that Shakira had visited the place.

Enjoy and have a great summer!

Flamenco is a form of Spanish folk music and dance from the region of Andalusia in southern Spain. Flamenco is often associated with the gitanos and a number of famous flamenco artists are of this ethnicity. It is known for its emotional intensity, proud carriage, expressive use of the arms and rhythmic stamping of the feet.

Words really can‘t describe just how magical and perfect that night was. We were witnesses to an explosion of emotions and feelings … an embrace to Spanish dance, music and culture…

Santa Maria Del Mar

Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is defined by quirky art and architecture, imaginative food and vibrant street life.

The city is also home to the famous 5 km shopping line. The shopping line stretches from the top of the Ramblas, through Plaça de Catalunya along Passeig de Gràcia and up Avenue Diagonal. The photo was taken outside one of most beautiful examples of early Catalan Gothic architecture, Santa Maria Del Mar, which is usually filled with street musicians, fortune tellers and painters.

Barcelona is a destination I always wanted to go and definitely didn’t let me down.
